Personal Data Protection

The Group Coface is committed maintaining the privacy of data obtained in the course of its business activities and complying with applicable laws and regulations regarding the Processing of Personal Data.

Processing of Personal Data

The Processing of Personal Data inside the European Union is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (GDPR) which entered into force in 2016 and, following a two-year transition period, became directly applicable law in all Member States of the European Union on May 25, 2018, without requiring implementation by the EU Member States through national law.

The GDPR has been transposed into Belgian law by the Law of July 30, 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and into Luxembourg law by the amended Law of May 30, 2005 (data protection and electronic communications-Coordinated text as of July 5, 2018).

The Group Coface implemented rigorous policies, controls, and compliance oversight to ensure that Personal Data is held and used appropriately.
